DURABLE
The simplest way to reduce waste is to ensure products are built to last. That is why we’ve moved away from legacy materials such as Polyurethane which are incredibly porous and therefore prone to breaking down when exposed to moisture, sunlight, and repeated impacts. These materials can even split or tear when manipulated in cold conditions. Our TPE is incredibly durable and formulated to withstand these environmental factors while providing outstanding protection, time and time again.

Circularity is not something that can be easily implemented retrospectively, which is why we invested significant time in incorporating it from the beginning. RE ZRO® armour is crafted using a single polymer, TPE, which is injection moulded.
This manufacturing process uses high-quality, highly accurate tools, reducing the amount of waste produced during moulding. The minimal waste we do produce is collected, reground, and reused in our own production.
This highly recyclable TPE also allows for easy recycling at the end of its use. So, if your protectors get damaged after an extreme impact (or you decide to upgrade), simply check with your local authorities on how to recycle Group 7 plastics.While circularity is our ultimate goal, the reality is that global recycling rates are still incredibly low, and there is a significant risk that our armour could end up in landfill.

What happens if our products do end up in the trash? To prevent them from sitting there for hundreds of years, we’ve partnered with the experts at TOTO-TOA® to optimise our materials for biodegradability.This means that if RE ZRO® products enhanced by
TOTO-TOA® end up in an oxygen-depleted, microbe-rich environment like a landfill, the armour will attract microbes and fungi that colonise and consume the carbon structures in the material as their food source. This process leaves behind only biomass and biogas, effectively REturning to ZRO in an estimated 3-5 years.And before you ask—no, our armour won’t break down in your garment. This process only occurs in these specific environments.
