DURABLE
The simplest way to reduce waste is to ensure products are built to last. That is why we’ve moved away from legacy materials such as Polyurethane which are incredibly porous and therefore prone to breaking down when exposed to moisture, sunlight, and repeated impacts. These materials can even split or tear when manipulated in cold conditions. Our TPE is incredibly durable and formulated to withstand these environmental factors while providing outstanding protection, time and time again.
Thermoplastic Materials
What a material is made from matters. So does what can be done with it afterwards. RE ZRO® impact protection is engineered from thermoplastic materials. Unlike thermoset materials, which permanently cure during manufacture, thermoplastics can, under appropriate processing conditions, be reheated and reprocessed into material for new applications.
It means the material itself has the potential to be reprocessed rather than being permanently locked into its original form.

Tested for Biodegradation
At RE ZRO®, performance comes first. But our material development doesn’t stop at how impact protection performs during its intended service life. We also investigate how our materials behave under specific end-of-life conditions.
As part of this work, RE ZRO® materials incorporating TOTO-TOA® technology have undergone controlled laboratory testing to measure anaerobic biodegradation.
RE ZRO® TPE TEST SAMPLE - 14.14% ANAEROBIC BIODEGRADATION AFTER 90 DAYS UNDER CONTROLLED LABORATORY CONDITIONS*
This gives us measurable data to better understand the behaviour of our materials under defined anaerobic conditions - and provides a benchmark for continued material research and development.
For us, it’s about combining the impact performance our products are designed for today with ongoing research into what happens to our materials beyond their intended service life.
*The tested RE ZRO® TPE sample recorded 14.14% anaerobic biodegradation after 90 days under controlled high-solids anaerobic-digestion laboratory conditions using ASTM D5511-18 and ISO 15985:2014. The claim applies only to the tested TPE material/component and documented materially equivalent formulations.
